Goodness, it's been a while! Sorry for my absence. Since my last post, I spent two weeks in Chicago attending a weekend retreat and helping my niece move to Southern Indiana. For the last week, my sister and I have been preparing for our first ever Yard Sale! Fingers crossed it won't rain this weekend. Sunday and Monday I'll be helping bake and pack cookies for my church's Cookie Ministry. Then, finally, Tuesday, back to the closet. Good thing about prepping for the yard sale, I've narrowed down all the storage pieces I'll be using in the closet/office and will hopefully make some cash off those I've rejected. As soon as painting/papering is underway, I'll bring you up to speed. Enjoy your weekend!

AND ON TO THE CLOSET RENOVATION
AND ON TO THE CLOSET RENOVATION
Now that I've emptied out the closet, it's time to start...
The closet measures 66.5" wide x 33 3/4" deep.It featured a 16" deep shelf 18" down from the ceiling, as well as a 12" deep shelf 6" above the floor for shoes, and a rod for hanging clothes. I removed the bottom shelf and the rod(to use in a laundry room project) and took out the top shelf for ease of painting/papering.
The ceiling sports a single-bulb fixture which I am leaving intact for the time being. I will be needing additional electrical outlets as well as an additional fixture placed in my clothing closet and bathroom, so I will wait and have Dave, my amazing and gorgeous electrician, come in and perform those tasks at a later date to save time and money. I plan on using a vintage lamp on my desk to illuminate the work space. My next step will be to wash down the walls, remove the hooks you see on the walls, and patch those holes. I will paint the walls and hang wallpaper on a portion of the walls. When I have reached that stage, I'll post photos :) Stay tuned!

Hello and welcome to Design Reflections, my debut into the world of blogging. I am a Free-lance Interior Designer, owner of Pepper Creek Interiors. Due to the fact that life happens, I recently found myself the proud owner of a two bedroom bungalow in Princeton, KY, the good ole "Land-Between-The-Lakes. I invite you to join me as I embark upon my quest to transform my little house into the "bungalow of my dreams". I will introduce you to my home, present my renovation/decoration plans(complete with photos), and present the step-by-step execution of my plans. My first project will be the transformation of my spare bedroom closet into a home office inaccessible to my six cats! Subsequent projects will include redecorating my master bedroom, which will include painting, wall art projects and the creation of a jewelry cabinet from a hand-hewn crate found in an abandoned house. Once the bedroom is complete, I will undertake the transformation of my nondescript kitchen into a vintage dream space, complete with the creation of a kitchen island from a re-purposed dresser, a recipe file from an old library card catalog and a creation of a unique cabinet facade. From there, I will see how the spirit moves me! I will be happy to answer any of your questions along the way. I'm looking forward to our journey! Are you?
